The design of this house reimagines the semi-detached house concept as a single composition while still mirroring the building’s internal spatial configuration. This reimagination is achieved by making the building form a completely asymmetrical one with subtle hints of individuality within the composition; so, the idea of two units is somewhat still maintained.
OBJECT
The building consists three major boxes; two of which are seemingly floating; clearly separating them from the other one. The little spaces between the boxes which creates the separation are akin to those between stacked containers in a shipping yard and the variation in the lengths of the building’s cantilevers makes it seem as though these containers are sliding off each other. The color white which represents simplicity is used as the building’s primary color to emphasize on the standalone strength of the building form.
